Parking Karma Top

When faced with an inability to name a new top
better suck up to the parking gods
it's a good investment

I have such a black & white crush right now

Here's one for me

With a little shirring on the sides

And a boobie release.
For meal time
Or a good time
Any time

Your call

The Soft Book

Birds in the Garden

A little of this

A little of that

This one crinkles

This one squeaks

And this one is only a slight hacking hazzard

Nothing like getting into a good book

This could be my next sewing flurry.

Caplet and Toys

I'm not even sure Capelet is a word.
I wanted something super light that I could throw over Nu in the Ergo
A little light cover to protect from the sun

Something easy to take on and off

No over-the-head or wrestling with the arms

In a pinch it even works for Pu

Nu spent the day in the Ergo today while we went on a
Father's Day Hike
Thus, I decided a few light easy grabbing toys
would be a good addition to our toy posse

They fit well in the hand

Can attach to anything in a myriad of ways

And who can resist the angry owl?
Not me. Not ever.

A Random Assortment

I've become fixated on bath toys.
Out with the plastic & in with the au naturel

So
this is a first try at scrap management rings

Super fast, a way to use up scrap fabric pieces
 and

Twisty!

Then, I was wondering about felt and if it would work sticking on the bathtub walls
I sooooooo bought these

But they totally work!
So now I must make my own :)

Then this

has been a useful bag holder from Ikea
But it fell off, refuses to be reattached and is
giant
So I made this from thrift placemats

It hangs happily under the sink and has a smaller footprint

Speaking of footprint
Of course it goes without saying that we shouldn't HAVE plastic bags.
But they keep sneaking into our lives.
The good news is we reuse them for our dog...
The bad news of course is that they are not biodegradable like the dog bags we buy

Also built some new Nu pants with a GIANT rise to give her some movement
in the can area

They don't look like they should fit
but when all you do all day is wiggle in various positions

the butt wiggle is key.

Last random thing
the bowl scrunchie

A terrible snap, but a great idea.
'Tis the season where doors are thrown wide
and sunbeams and fruit flies populate our kitchen
With the bowl scrunchie
We can throw some linens on top of the fruit bowl
and keep out the flies.
Lock down the produce people!

Pantaloons Redux & My Creative Space

We're heading on a hot adventure so Nu needs some light pants
to shelter her Nu self from sun
and bugs
and
I KNOW I mentioned TICKS

Nu was too busy studying her Latin to model the front view

One leg rolled up and one down.
These are long to cover her little feet in the carrier.
Why do babies wear shoes???
It's not like they walk!

And then I tried my hand at some crayon roles again

These might be nice gifts for the cousins if I get enough made

Pu wanted my first attempt
First born.
Deal.
Then she immediately began to systematically peel each crayon
She IS my daughter!

You'd think I could splurge on new crayons?
I guess I'll get kicked out of good mommy camp.
Again.

I dig this
Alexander Henry fabric.

What a tale it tells!

Head over to Kirsty's for some more Creative Spaces

Burlap & Lace

Just like "nuts & gum, together at last"- the Simpsons

We have a deck that would be just right
if
if there were not power lines cutting our sky
if
the sun was not in our eye
(just at dinner, otherwise bring on the sun)
if
we had some sort of screen to support the above wishes
we tried bamboo
it died
we just didn't commit
but now

now i think it might be just right

I have been fighting the sun a little with my other flagging
I tossed up some banners with bright material
and I waited
It didn't take long before they were bleached

So this time I decided to go with lace and neutrals and see

I have been hunting coffee sacks to reuse and I stumbled upon some today
so fortuitous
one even had my daughter's name stamped on it
I took it as a sign
And took it home

Will the sun eat the burlap in one season?

I wouldn't mind it all being reclaimed by the elements
but slowly please
