Pierrot Tunic at Work

I bought a new pattern from Rae
and gave it a whirl.

And though the sleeves are actually exactly
the right length for this 9 month old
baby, I rolled them so she could 'work'.

There were ants to be inspected.

And clearly here
she was staring into the sidewalk's soul.

It's called the Pierrot Tunic,
and that's pretty much what I got.

But it also works,
arguably better on the almost 3 year old.

Here the collar has been smeared
with peanut butter,
and life.

Nu acutally picked this material
when all four of us were
in the fabric store together.

That was a sight!

But really,
she couldn't care less.

Especially when she hears the Siren song of Lego

There's a new Sheriff in town.

And a new fly on the wall.

Well,
more of a bee you see.

These are Bayside Britches size 18-24m.,

and they kill me a little.

The cute factor is quite high.

Lavender and heather brown, swoon.

In my humble opinion,
overalls on little people are so ridiculously
cute.

A little racer back.
Tee hee.

With lots of baggy room to grow into.

Everyone is laughing with glee.

The new Sheriff may be bovine,
or vegetarian at least.
She'd love nothing more than to eat your lawn.

Perhaps goat?

A happy, cozy, well britched baby goat.

This week I am linking to Skip to my Lou

Red Sweet/Sweat Her

There is this little person I know.

She is growing bigger

in so many ways,
 every day,
every hour
with discoveries at every turn.

And though,
she is finding her way
with increasing happiness
 and success in the world,

she (like all of us)
still has a very little person inside her.

Unlike all of us,
(but just like some of us)
her little person is often afraid.

My oldest little person suffers from huge anxiety.

There is a genetic component,

and also a part that is informed by experience.

It can be so powerful
that every step she takes
is about potentially losing her balance
and a world that might not catch her.

 It breaks both our hearts.
It also drives us both nuts.

We work on getting to a place
 where it makes us laugh.

Thank goodness for sisters.

And in this family,
for a fearless sister,
that by her very existence reminds her older
example that life need not be feared.

At the top of life's stairs,
this one tries a different way each time.

 Sometimes the success varies,
but it never stops her from moving forward.

This is one of my many wishes for all my girls.
Keep going,

Don't

Stick together
and know you are loved for who you are,

even when you are encouraged to find,
and lose your balance.

Because,
those who love you,
big and small
in our own ways...
we will catch you.

Until you learn to catch yourself.

There are benefits to both approaches to life.

When the oldest is older I'll say,
if it's not working for you
 tell it to kiss your...

But until then,
I am reminded that inside us all
is a pudgy little self that is wee.

And hopefully,
still a place where new can be written on old.

Where new experiences
can be tasted without fear

And little sisters (and Mommy's) will adore you,
with whatever you bring.

P.S. Finished the sweater :)

Drool Sponge

I've made a soft book before for Nu.

But then along came Yu.

I saw SouleMama's version using photo paper,

and

had

to try it.

So super fun!

As with all things these days,
I had to keep it simple,
or it would never get done.

So a little less razzle dazzle.
But, hopefully more bang.

More so,
although this is Yu's book,
her sisters will likely co-opt it
and pour over the photos.

So I added a bigger girl page
that hosts under the trim curtains
names and phone numbers
and our address so they can learn some of
those life particulars.

I know I'm late to the party,
but this photo paper rocks!

Yu has already drooled into it deeply

with big happy-girl grins.
