Pink Echino

I've decided to partake in my first craft fair.
However,
I submitted on a whim with a "why not" attitude.

Then I got in.

I now have lots of Nots.
No inventory.
No time.
No plan.

No
No
 No.
But, I'm going to do it anyway.

So yes!

I'm in love with Rae's Geranium dresses
so I thought I would crank out some of those.

But whoa man.
They are not fast when I am doing it.
So I will have to do something else along with,

My list is long, my time is short.

Trial by inferno.

I finished this one for Nu because she loves pink.
Then just after I added the frog closures
 I smelled a burning smell.
Pesky Iron!

Melted closure.

No one would notice I'm sure.
But once one tries to sell something...
well it all gets more complicated.

Each happy accident that gets fixed
with some sort of creative
mis-direct is fine when it's just for us.
Perhaps not for someone else.

I guess these will be truly one of a kind.
With all the imperfections and details
that make it
handmade by me.

Off to the sweat shop of my own design!

Dinosaur eggs

Dinosaur Eggs?

Hmmm...

Confounding.

Perplexing?

Indubitably!

Nothing like unloading giant hunks of ice
on the first official day of spring

It hailed here, but we made it work.

The good news is that the cherry blossoms
are also in bloom.

So I made a little shirt to echo the good news.

Happy Spring!

The moment when I heard a page turn

There is an incredible new landmark at our house.
(Well, truth be told a few.)

One of these, is that this one
is learning to sit still for more than a minute.

(Though, here she looks psychically stricken
by this new strange reality)

This means the world of books has exploded.

If one stops leaping and spinning
it's amazing what other things are possible.

Even though I'm a big fan of leaping and spinning,
in slower motion
books have blossomed into a miracle of exploration.

Especially when the biggest sister is learning to read.

And the middle one loves nothing more than her big sister.

I take that back.
She loves a million things with equal vigour.
But, sister love is right up there.

It usually lasts for only a few minutes...

but for those few minutes,
they read (in various ways) beside each other.

Then PU starts reading to Nu

Then Yu adds herself to the action

& plops down beside her sisters.

Pu holds court.

It is such a hopeful sign of things to come.

Everyone for a moment seems so grown up,
So quickly.

The wild one is focused.

The one with a tendancy to boss
channels her wisdom into leadership.

And, the littlest who is often,
lovingly,
both smelly and yell-y
is silent in sister rapture.

THIS is good.

The ups and downs of pants.

Hello pants.

Hello little Nu wearing new pants.

We hit the playground hard in the recent sunshine.
Sporting Nu's favorite kitty cat shirt and her new pants.

Nu, who could care less about clothes
suddenly has developed opinions.

Most of which she echoes from her big sister.
Many of which make no sense but are powerfully loud.

Nothing like gearing up for the playground
and trying SO hard to ignore the cold
that's trying to slow her down.

Little doodle.
When she rallied, I think the stripes helped her run faster.

Slouch no more!

"Sunshine... no rain
Pump it up, pump it up..."

This is my slouchy hat,
off the needles and on the head.

And these are some cheeky monkeys
that made it out into the sun.

I can't believe what a miracle the sun is
here in the Pacific Northwest at this time of year.

We were all one day away from cracking up
completely.

And just then, when all hope was lost the sky tsunami
abated and a yellow orb lifted from the horizon.

Are you familiar with this glowy sky ball?
I vaguely recollect it from some past life.

Thanks glowy sky ball!!
