"P" is for...petals

I am playing along with Katy from
nobigdill.com as she
Sews through the 26 letters of the alphabet

This week's stitches are inspired by the letter "P".

I took a little sewing class to try and carve out
some sewing time.
2 nights allowed for this:

The Sew Liberated SchoolHouse Tunic

The weather here has been grim
so I ran out into the raindrops
& we got a few snaps

However,
this little monkey was determined
to be in all of them.
When I try and take a picture of her,
she flies the coop...

but this set of snaps I was cropping
out dog toes and spinning dervishes.

Figures :)

"O"... is for Obsessed!

I am playing along with Katy from
nobigdill.com as she
Sews through the 26 letters of the alphabet

This week's stitches are inspired by the letter "O".

I guess this is the season for wool.

I miss my sewing machine,
however, it's also the season of sick kids.

My middle one has what sounded like
 Olden Times Sick to me
Scarlet Fever.
Yeesh!

And so I've been knitting hats.
And tending to the Littles.

Little hats, for the Little Ones.

Bigger hats for the bigger ones.

And even the dude in the family finally gets to
profit from my stitches.

(Note Giant Stink-face on the littlest Little)

Though I use the word 'profit' dubiously.

I made lots of hats using Shannon's great pattern

And, as is my way, I played with it a little
trying to find the perfect
slouch to snug ratio.

They look pretty cute on,
(though this chick needs, sleep and lipstick)

but off, they remind me of Fat Albert's buddy
Dumb Donald.

The Sweetie said the same!

So I switched my hat/stitch obsession over to crochet.

This is a lovely new pattern from

And though it's very sweet,
it's a little too small for me.
(I made the adult small,
over correcting for my giant
Dumb Donald large hats)

It looks so much prettier on Pu.

Alas, my 6 year old is very particular

and it didn't make the cut.

I guess I could make another one a size larger
for my medium sized head.

But these chunky yarn babies just knit up
so quickly.

Who knew Dumb Donald was my kind of Fashionista.

And my TV watching, knit/ crochet obsession
is admittedly in total overdrive.

Off to wipe a nose and cast on something.

"N" is for... Noggin & (K)nit

I am playing along with Katy from

This week's stitches are inspired by the letter "N".

N is for...

Hi Folks!
Happy New Year.

I'm so glad that Katy took a break from the
stitch-tastic alphabet series.
'Cause we over here in LittleLand were down
for the count.
We had cooties of all sorts
delicious!

But I'm back :)
Hope you are excellent and stupendous.
I'm definitely trying for it in 2014.
Why not?

Though sewing seems a million miles away
right now,
I did manage to keep-on-keepin'-on
with a few knit stitches.

I knit up this little slouchy hat by Shannon

Look at the stinky faces on my shorties!

These ones sure keep my noggin spinning.
Cheeky monkeys.

Thank goodness I can now wrap it up
in a giant tea-cozy.
That way if I need to bang my head
on the wall for good measure,
it has some insulation.

Alternately, I think it would be
a significant deterrent if there was a
zombie apocalypse and there was a
zombie rampage.

It would be really hard to get through
all that wool
even if brains are tasty
and delicious.

Not that I'd know.

It's just good to be prepared.
Phew.
