"Q" is for...

I am playing along with Katy from
nobigdill.com as she
Sews through the 26 letters of the alphabet

This week's stitches are inspired by the letter "Q".

You know what our house/ my life isn't??

(Plug your ears, I'm going to use all caps)

Our house is not...
QUIET!!!

And for that I am mostly grateful.

Most of the time our house sounds like
this:

At least three little people are trying
to the loudest of their abilities,
to share their every thought and
feeling.
Their, every epiphany.

When there is snow,
we do not hear the breath of angels
or the silence of the colour white.

Instead we hear a reasonable facsimile of
"a pox on mittens!!!'
(But how my hands buuuuurn!)
"The snowflakes are in my eyes",
"my snowpants = puffy wedgie"

Instead of the quietus of birds reflected in water:

We hear
"Biiiiiiiiird!!!!
I'm going to feed you biiiiiiiiird!!!"

(Yu about to kick bird ass unless it melds to her will)

This one even hums when she eats!!

Let's be clear,
I wouldn't trade it for anything.
(But Spinal Tap will have to go higher than 11)

And then there is Quince:

Awww, give a girl a break.
These cooould be quince blossoms?!?

This is my first try at Jess's Nessie top Pattern

I would have to create a new blog
to debrief all the things I did wrong
to this poor innocent collar.

Let's just leave it with:
Great pattern,
mad seamstress.

Broke a needle,
read directions wrong,
decided to press on at midnight.
Broke machine.
Said some swears.
Put collar on wrong.

And though from far away it looks perfect
and adorable...

Rest assured I injured my middle child
both physically and spiritually stuffing her
giant melon head into the too tight neckband
(must read instructions...cut on bias!!)

Thus, the shortest one inherits this "dress"
and I put money in a jar for Nu's
"Future Therapy".

I should no longer
wonder why my children don't like
my homemade crap  :)

I may have left her with a permanent cone head.

At least we'll always have hats.

Eat some Cake!!

Hello You!!

Apologies for having ditched you lately.
It's not you, it's me.

Well actually,
it's one of the Shorties.

Everyone is fine,
no need to worry.
However, the past little while had been busy
with assessments for a mystery thing.

I was marching around with furrowed brow.

To Dr's and speech pathologists,
then Occupational therapists
and Physiotherapists.

That's a lot of stuff for a little one.

The good news is after all the marching
and sweating and ringing of hands,
that is the full time job of most parents...

There are some things to do,
but cupcakes will certainly help,
and I'm hopeful that a window for
a creative stretch is not far away.

See you soon &
Happy (late) Valentine's Day!!
