Rainbow New Year

Christmas came and went!

 

 

We tried to fight the good festive fight

 

 

and bring in the cheer.

 

There was mistletoe

 

and Santa brought roller skates

so that's all flavours of awesome.

 

First teeth were lost,

and fairies came.

 

But there was also pneumonia for me,

so cancelled parties and old timey swooning etc.

 

Let's shake that off and have a NEW YEAR!

 

And bring in more rainbows.

 

Quick

 

beloved

 

 all flavours of rainbow welcome.

 

I haven't made anything in so long

 

I almost forgot.

But there it is.

A Nessie shirt and a big

 

smile.

 

Mission accomplished.



I have a Rainbow Grrrrl

I have a Rainbow GRRRL.

 

 

And even though she is often

big and tough and strong and feisty &

 really into dinosaur grrrrowling...

 

Sometimes she's little and needs her

ballerina rabbit.

 

 

 

So I made her a truly insane shirt

full of rainbows and

ballerina rabbit pockets.

 

 

And if you're going to go Gonzo,

then why stop when there are buttons,

 

 

 

and pom pom's

 

 

and giant felt flowers

in existence?!?

 

 

I know, I know!

There's a time and a place for

good taste,

discretion,

restraint,

style & sophistication!

 

But 2 and 1/2 is not the time

and my brain is not that place!!

 

 

I think I channeled cruise ship senior Muumuu.

I totally see her at the baccarat table

in this get up.

 

 

And then,

because I can't get enough of this material

I made her a little bit of legging action.

 

 

Long live my Rainbow Grrl!

 

 

And the Rainbow Grrrl in us all.

 

 

 

 

 



Rainbow Rain Required

 This is what my brain feels like.

 

 

Spidery, cluttery, tied up.

A mix of metal and soft wool.

 

That's both good and bad.

 

It also rains A LOT here.

That too is both good and bad.

 

With the hope of delivering some whimsy to the 'hood...

 

 

 

Our weather report required: rainbow rain.

 

I would have rather built a light fluffy cloud

full of lightness and possibility.

 

However,

since it lives outside it had to function

so the rain could run right through it and 

not send it crashing to the earth smothering house cats and frightening dogs. 

 

 

Let's hope I bemuse the

passing school children...

 

rather than freak out the neighbours 

 

Note one of my side kicks directing from inside

as I hang it from one of our wee tree's.

 

So little,

so loud,

so lovely.

 

 

 



Rainbow Rage Razzle Dazzle

Though today she sports the black shirt again,

she swears her favorite colour is pink now.

How can a mother keep up?

Rainbow, man.

Only on the day of the rainbow dress,

Pu was NOT in a rainbow mood.

Such technicolour emotion in this little person.

In this photo she is mustering all the glee she can.

She also looks like

life is her personal passing kidney stone.

This says it all really.

A pox on rainbows,

bring back the black!!

(It should be noted that much like Pu,

the black has sequins

and glitters despite itself)
