Bag-O-Bags

I made a little bag holder for those prolific
and evil plastic bags.

We try to avoid them, but they sneak in.

I had made a boring one to fit under our sink.

But "under our sink" is
working overtime & there wasn't
enough real estate for bags & compost.

This way I get to glimpse some of my favorite
materials

Peek-A-Boo-Bags

Thanks to Toni for her awesome tutorial.

I love these little non naughty peep holes

Nu and Pu can grab one and sort their little possessions.
This one, clearly was destined for autos of all sorts.

Next up animals of the wee variety need a home to call their own.

The Scrappy Pouch

I am learning that part of this craftiness culture
is a devotion to 'scrap management'.

What to do with the bits and bobs that inevitably fly in the construction of something crafty?

One of the many variation on this theme is the
 Noodlehead scrappy pouch

This is my favorite version

Only...
it doesn't involve many scraps
mostly new fabric that I snipped with rapture.

Then I made some more.

They are lined with some old quilting squares
So a vague success.

I am always astounded by my ability to mess these things up.

Really, I'm quite gifted at stumbling.

I had to unpick each one for different reasons
they are lined,
they have batting,
there is flipping
and folding
and zippers
and boxed corners
there is even turning things inside out.

On a good day I can turn my underwear right side out
 before I've had a coffee.

It's only a matter of time before I sew my hand to my face.

Linen and Lace

More linen bags and respect for the doilie

Add a little chaos stitching to lock these bad boys down

I may add some fabric leaves and what nots to this black and white tote,
but I kinda like the simplicity as is...

Too much frim in the frim fram is no good.

Skirt Redux

Well Pu BARELY fit into the original model.
I could get it on, then it was great but the getting part was tricky.
Pu is not one to suffer fools gladly so this is version 2.

It fits!!

And totally works when you're spinning with a ribbon.
I added ric rac to hide my Franken-hem.
I'm going to try and recreate and expand the other version.
Who DOESN'T need two black skirts?

I also crossed a threshold today.
I THRIFTED.
I am a bit of a thrifting virgin.
Never a garage sale gal either.
But the idea of recreating from old really opens windows in my soul.
Today I found these green linen napkins and lace handkerchiefs neither of which I need or want

But ...
who can't find a use for a treasure bag?

Surely this would look better ironed in good light.

Well then maybe Shirley should come over to my house and get busy!

(busting a gut here people)

Flower Power & Bits & Bobs

I made these little hair clips, lapel pins, what-have-you
Thank you purlbee.com

And I've been adding bits and bobs to my tote

Curse you late night flash photography!
